Discipleship Classes

Discipleship Classes

We believe that by knowing God’s Word we will be “thoroughly equipped for every good work” (2 Timothy 3:16). Discipleship Classes are offered in Room 202 (unless otherwise noted) every Sunday and cover a wide variety of topics. Teachers aim to uncover biblical truths that equip participants to grow in their love of God.

What Did You Expect? Redeeming The Realities Of Marriage

February 4 - April 28 at 9:00AM | Room 202

Somehow, someway, every marriage becomes a struggle. Everyone’s marriage morphs into something they didn’t intend it to be. At some point you need something sturdier than romance. You need something deeper than shared interests and mutual attraction. You need changed expectations, you need radical commitments, and, most importantly, you need grace. This 10-Week Discipleship Class, What Did You Expect? Redeeming The Realities of Marriage, will help discover how to develop a marriage of unity, understanding, and love.

Evangelism in a Skeptical World

February 4 - April 28 at 10:45AM | Room 202

Most Christians already believe they should be telling others about Jesus, but it can be difficult in today's post-Christian world. Thus, we may become frustrated, blame ourselves, or simply give up. This 10-week Discipleship Class, Evangelism in a Skeptical World, will help equip followers of Christ with the principles and skills to tell the unbelievable news about Jesus to friends in a skeptical world.

Preparing Your Child for Baptism and the Lord's Table

April 28 at 10:45AM | Room 204

Baptism and the Lord’s Table are two sacraments given to the church to remind us visually of the Gospel of Christ, as well as affirm the faith of God’s people. However, discerning conversion in our children can often be a difficult task and one that parents should approach with great care. If you are looking for help in walking with your kids through this process, then this class is for you. Join us as we address how to discern conversion in your child and learn about how PCC can assist you in this process. This class is for parents only and is designed to help families begin preparation for the Lord’s Table and baptisms at PCC.

Registration required. For any questions, please contact Chris Chappell.

7 Myths about Singleness

May 5 - June 23 at 9:00AM | Room 202

Sam Allberry states, “If marriage shows us the shape of the gospel, singleness shows us its sufficiency.” To be single, we often think, is to be alone and spiritually hindered. But the Bible paints a very different picture of singleness. This class seeks to help our church body value singleness as a gift from God so that we can all encourage singles to take hold of the unique opportunities their singleness affords. This 8-Week Discipleship Class, 7 Myths about Singleness, will help us understand how we as a church—married and unmarried alike—live out God’s design for a flourishing community.
